Wart Removal Surgery
Falkner’s Wart Needling
Falkner’s needling is a minimally invasive procedure which uses an empty sterile needle to puncture and break down the plantar wart (verruca). This causes a little bleeding, which activates your body’s immune system response. Once the immune system becomes aware of the virus, it starts the process of self-healing, destroying the diseased cells.
Falkner’s needling procedure is carried out under a local anesthetic to make the area numb.
Usually 1-2 treatments are needed to completely eradicate plantar wart. Most patients don’t see a full change in the skin until 12 weeks after the treatment, hence you may not see complete results for 3 months.
Benefits Include:
- High Success Rates - 70-80%
- Minimally Invasive
- Stimulates Immune Response

Curettage
Curettage is the fastest way to treat plantar warts. In most cases, the treatment is a one-off procedure carried out under a local anaesthetic in the clinic. We find curettage to have great success and deliver faster results than alternative treatments, with studies showing success rates of up to 85%.
Some warts may involve a potent or virulent strain and will not go. In this situation, curettage may be a suitable option. Typically, a currategae is carried out when the non-surgical options have not been successful.
The procedure involves exercising or removing the wart tissue from the foot using sterile instruments.
Benefits Include:
- High Success Rates - 85%
- Fastest way to treat
